Wholesale Onyx Vases: Water Use, Weight and Packaging

When sourcing wholesale onyx vases, confirm whether each design is intended for fresh flowers, dry stems or decorative display. The word “vase” does not establish that a particular stone vessel can hold water.

Define what will go inside

Specify the intended arrangement and the required opening. For fresh flowers, ask how water containment is achieved and what checks apply to the proposed construction. If an insert is needed, include its dimensions, removal method and replacement responsibility in the order specification.

For dry arrangements, the opening and usable depth still affect presentation. A tall narrow neck may constrain the stems even when the overall vessel appears large enough in a photograph.

Compare height with weight and footprint

Request the proposed dimensions and approximate sample weight. Review the base footprint with the intended arrangement rather than assessing stability with an empty vase only. Define where the product will be displayed and whether customers or staff will move it regularly.

Agree on the range of appearance

Banding and color may differ across the faces of one vessel and between pieces. Ask for representative references and decide what variation suits the collection. If product photography shows one individual sample, avoid promising that every delivered piece will reproduce its exact pattern.

Protect vulnerable parts in the pack

Identify necks, rims, lids and projecting details when reviewing packaging. Ask how the piece is supported inside the carton and how separate components are kept from contacting each other. Review a packed sample and agree on any transport evaluation required for your distribution route.
